Promontory Trail

Princess Di Trail:
Length – 8 miles

This is an advanced trail thatistechnical, isolated, and long. Access is from the Promontory Trailhead on the Rail Trail and riding up the Three Mile Canyon paved trail. It winds through sagebrush hills, in and out of aspen stands and is quite a journey.  Be prepared if you plan to ride the whole trail. It is probably best done as an out and back but can be done as a loop by connecting it tothe Rail Trail at TollGate Canyon. You must cross I-80 on the over pass and ride through the culvert under the west bound lane in order to do this. The loop from the Promontory trailhead is approximately 16 miles in length.

Three Mile Canyon Trail:
Length – 3 miles

This trail is paved and has a soft shoulder trail along the side of it. It climbs several hundred feet in the first two miles and then descends the last mile to the beginning of Princess Di Trail. It would be a great trail for burleys or baby joggers. The soft shoulder allows easy traveling for horses as a great access to Princess Di Trail.

South Canyon Trail:
Length – 5 miles

This trail begins just before the gatehouse at Promontory along the Three Mile Canyon Trail. The first half mile is a gravel road and then turns to single track as it meanders along the hillside over to Brown’s Canyon Road. This is an easy mountain bike ride with a few easily negotiable, technical rocky sections.
