Mid Mountain Trail
Type: Single Track, Out and Back; various loops
Rating: Intermediate to Advanced
Most choose to ride the trail from Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley or up Spiro Trail, across Mid Mountain to the Canyons and down the Ambush Trail. You can car shuttle from the lower Canyons parking lot or ride 5 miles back to town or catch a city bus back up to Silver Lake Lodge. The trail follows approximately the 8,000 foot contour, and is relatively flat in and around the ski resorts. Various access points and parking are within residential areas, so make sure you check the map and plan your outing accordingly.
The route now covers over 20 miles, winding through some spectacular aspen and conifer groves, through deep canyons and crossing several creeks. This trail is a must!
Thanks to The Colony and The Canyons there are now a couple of alternative trails and routes in the Iron Mountain area. These trails will add distance and challenge to ones Mid Mountain Trail experience.
Notes: Access points are from Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley; Various locations within Park City Mountain Resort; The Canyons Resort and Sun Peak. Please do not park in the Community Church Parking lot on Sundays between 8 and 12 noon. It is not recommended that users park within the Sun Peak neighborhood. Best parking for this area is located in the lower Canyons parking lot.
