The Mcleod Creek Trail connects the incorporated area of Park City to the Basin Recreation trail system along the East side of Highway 224. From Holiday Ranch Loop Road, the trail follows Mcleod Creek north. This trail parallels Highway 224 and eventually runs east, wrapping around the toe of Quarry Mountain. This area is a scenic wetland area where trail users can find delightful spots for wildlife observation along a relatively flat stretch of trail from Highway 224 to Old Ranch Road.
Once users reach Old Ranch Road, they have the option to continue east on Mcleod Creek towards Round Valley, or crossing the road to Willow Creek Park. Approximately 2 ½ miles of soft surface trail has been added around Willow Creek Park and Willow Creek Subdivision. This trail also connects users into the Ranch Place Subdivision and will ultimately get users to Kimball’s Junction.
Rating: Beginner
Notes: Please park in the new trailhead that has been constructed in conjunction with Willow Creek Park. Parking is not allowed along Old Ranch Road, and vehicles are subject to towing.
Dogs should be leashed and cleaned up after. This area is widely used and the use will continue to increase with Willow Creek Park coming on line this spring. All dog owners need to play their part!
